After few years of curling and outstanding performances, the Mammoth team has now undergone changes. Only two of the founders are still with the team; Jón Ingi Sigurðsson (skip) and Ólafur Númason (vice). Björgvin Guðjónsson went to Denmark before the 2007-2008 season, following his spouse. Arnar Sigurðsson and John Cariglia retired (for now at least) at the first half of the 2008-2009 season. A few others have made their way into the Mammoth's history, mainly as fifth players on paper without playing much of actual curling. That list includes Baldvin Zophoníasson, Hörður Rúnarsson and Gísli Dúa Hjörleifsson.
As universally known, the Mammoth team won the Icelandic championship last season and the goal is as it always has been, to be always number one, play each game to win and each tournament to finish number one. The remaining Mamoths now have new team mates to take on the upcoming challenges. Those are Jens Kristinn Gíslason, Haraldur Ingólfsson and Sveinn H. Steingrímsson.
